The 3rd annual Art for the Animals, a collaboration of local artisans selling their unique creations and benefiting the Pagosa Springs Humane Society, was a great success.
With the support of more than 20 local Artisans, we raised close to $4,000 for our local Humane Society of Pagosa Springs.
The Arts Council encourages collaboration among our community organizations, especially when they benefit our local artisans. And based on the feedback received, that the majority of the artisans sold more than expected, it was a great collaboration!
Local artisans - mark your calendars for Saturday, November 30, 2019, for AFTA lV! More details to follow.
Building Community Through Art
Last month, we distributed 6x6 canvasses
to anyone who wished to create a piece of art,
using any medium they chose. More than 150 community members - from healthcare workers, to high school students to forest service employees – created the beautiful pieces currently on display in the
Pagosa Springs Town Hall lobby.
The Arts Council is selling $35 tickets, each with a number that will match the number on the back of one of these canvasses. At a community event on November 15, PSAC will announce the numbers and award the canvasses.
To purchase a ticket, simply click the box above. We will have your name on a master list when you arrive. I
The Center for the Arts
You do not need to be present to win.
The Arts Council is grateful for the opportunity to display the beautiful work created by our community members.
Art for the Young and
the Young at Heart
We're excited to roll out Kaleidoscope, a grant program funded by The Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado (https://www.swcommunityfoundation.org/) and designed to bring art to local underserved participants from ages 12 to 120!
We have an awesome lineup of local teaching artists that will help participants explore different creative techniques. And thanks to the generosity of these teachers donating their time, and the grant funded materials, we're able to offer these workshops at no charge, plus provide all supplies.
PSAC Member Benefit
While Kaleidoscope is designed for underserved students and seniors in our community, when space allows, we will add two spots in each workshop for PSAC members.
The Workshop Schedule is below. Click
HERE (https://ps-artscouncil.org/kaleidoscope) for more detailed descriptions. If you are a PSAC member and you would like to join one of the workshops, email the workshop Name and Date to email@example.com.
These spots are based on availability and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
